Pledged to end Untouchability and Casteism, 2-day historic Sant Sammelan concludes at Tumakuru

Tumakuru November 12: With a clear message to stop prompted religious conversion and pledged to end social evils like untouchability and casteism within Hindu Society, the 2-day historic Sant Sammelan concluded in Tumakuru of Karnataka on Wednesday evening. The 2-day Sant Sammelan on Nov 11 and 12, 2014 (Conclave of Swamijis and Pontiffs) was organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad as a part of its Golden Jubilee celebration.
The Sant Sammelan passed resolution on 5 major issues of socio-religious significance.
Due to health reasons VHP veteran Ashok Singhal could not attend the Sammelan. He was expected to deliver the valedictory address. Nearly 600 Swamijis representing various religions of Hindu Society gathered at the Sant Sammelan. The Sant sammeklan ianugurated by Sri Dr Shivakumar Swamiji of Siddaganga Matha along with RSS Sarasanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat at Siddaganga Matha, Tumakuru on Tuesday morning.
Resolutions Passed at Sant Sammelan:
1. Complete ban on export of cattle meat in Bharat. Govt should not give licence to new cow slaughter houses in Bharat.
2. Declare Cow as ‘National Animal of Bharat’ and make Bharat ‘a nation free from cow slaughtering’.
3. To implement Uniform Civil Code.
4. Legal measures to stop religious conversions.
5. Demand to central govt to withdraw “Medical Termination of Pregnancy Amendment Bill 2014, 12015/49/2008 draft dated 29.10.2014″
Several Swamijis expressed and shared their concerns on emerging socio-religious challenges within and infront of Hindu society.
As a Common issue, every Swamijis unequivocally opposed all attempts of religious conversion. Swamijis expressed their concerns to take strong measures to immediately stop all activities which are directly or indirectly promotes conversion. Swamijis also demanded stratergirs in enhancement on reconverting the converted back to Hindu faith (Paravartan). Swanijis also demanded a unity amognst all comminities of Hindu society to fight against social evils like untouchability annd casteim.
Dr Shivakumar Swamiji of Siddaganga Matha Tumakuru, Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawara Matha Udupi, Sri Nirmalanathananda Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Matha, Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji, Sri Sri Ravishankar of Art of Living, Sri Shivarudra Swamiji of of Beli Matha Swamiji , Sri Gangadhareshwara Swamiji of Swarnavalli Sonda Matha, Dr Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala, Sri Siddhalinga Swamiji of Siddaganga Matha, Sadhwi Umabharati of Nelamangala Siddhaaroodha Matha, Sri Paradeshikendra Swamiji of Tiptur, Dr Veereshananda Swamiji of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Ashrama, Sri Vidyaranya Swamii of Hampi, Sri Namadevananda Swamiji of Gondi, Sri Rudramuni Shivacharya Swamiji of Kadur, Sri Mummadi Nirvana Swamiji of Kanakapura, Sri Subudendra Swamiji of Mantralaya. Sri Vidyaprasanna Swamiji of Kukke Subrahmanya and others several prominent Swamijis were present during the Sant Sammelan.
VHP’s International Secretary Champat Roy, VHP Chief of Karnataka Prof MB Puaranik, VHP Veteran YK Raghavendra Rao, VHP organising secretary Gopal Nagarakatte and other prominent leaders were present.
