'Ignorant leaders like Rahul Gandhi bigger threat than saffron terror'

RAM MADHAV : Times Of India

CHANDRAPUR: Central committee member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Ram Madhav claimed that ignorant leaders like Congress's Rahul Gandhi are the biggest threat to the nation, even more than radical extremist forces. He was talking to reporters after a Vishal Hindu Sammelan here on Sunday.

Mentioning the talks between Rahul Gandhi and the American ambassador to India, which were leaked on Wikileaks, Madhav said, "Yuvraj (Rahul Gandhi) is so politically immature that he does not understand the vital fact that crucial matters related to internal affairs of the country are not discussed with foreign leaders. Such persons, who is likely to hold the reins of the country in the near future, but has weak understanding of country's policies and lacks knowledge about ground realities here and across the world, are greater threats to the nation compared to radical extremists."

Replying to a query, he claimed that RSS is not under any immediate threat from the government, but held that those in power were conspiring to defame the organisation and incriminate its leaders in false cases. He said that the government is trying to "monsterise Hindu terrorism".

"Half of the accused in cases of Hindu terrorism have been falsely incriminated. The government is deceiving the people and trying to portray pious people as terrorists," alleged Madhav while addressing the programme organised by Hanumat Shakti Jagran Samiti at Chanda Club grounds here.

Madhav appealed to the people to invoke their internal spiritual power (Hanumat Shakti) to build a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. "Even after 60 years of freedom, Lord Ram is imprisoned at his birthplace in a small tent on disputed land in Ayodhya. However, now the courts too have acknowledged the truth and held that the disputed place at Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Ram. Honouring the decision of the high court, government should make a law on its own and pave the way for construction of the Ram Mandir," he said.

Warkari leader Prakash Maharaj Jawanjal also addressed the gathering. Senior leaders connected to RSS and other saffron organisations were present on the dais.
